XE flywheel and inlet camshaft in LET engine

Hi,

i want to ask you friends, can i use original XE flywheel in my LET engine. Are you know, wath is the XE and LET flywheel mass ? I know that when i use XE flywheel i need to change my clutch pressure plate, but this is no problem for me. I want my engine revs much more quickly.

My other question is when i mount XE inlet cam in my LET engine, what is cam wheel accurate position ? Is the cam position the same like normal LET cam position or one tooth advanced or retarded ?

Flat XE flywheel fits fine. You have to use the XE pressure plate though like you say, you may have problems with clamping pressure unless you go for a special clutch. I forget the weight, I think the Flat type is around 5-6KG and the pot type around 9-10KG?


XE inlet is timed up as normal. If you have vernier pullys you could find (or move) some power by playing with timing on a rolling road.

your site is incredible :wink: , but in it i look info only for cams, for flywheels at this moment you havent link. Wath is your opinion can i fit XE flywheel with uprated clutch to my LET engine ?

The LET flywheel isn't too heavy, like the V6 for example

So losing a couple of Kgs will help it rev faster, but it won't shake your world.
Remember that a lighter flywheel will cause revs to drop during gearchanges, too!

I think it won't fit.
Because the C20XE wheel uses 6 bolts.
And the C20let uses 8 bolts to fasten it to the crank......

2.0 8V is 6 bolt. 16V (XE and LET) engines are 8 bolt.
