Detonation or no ???

Hi guys,

I have one inexplicable for me problem. I drive my car with Projekt Opel chipset with boost pressure 0.9 and 1.3 overboost and fuel pressure 3.5 bar. I install big VOLVO diesel intercoler but i have problem. When i accelerate in first and second gear(any times and in third) with full pressed pedal, when engine reach ~5000rpm car sudden stoping. Where is the problem, i touch the intercooler and he is cold. Are this problem is cause of detonation or no ??? Can you advise me how can i detect cause for this problem ?

My intercooler dimensions(in mm) are in this picture.

No faultcodes , everything with ECU is OK. Engine is not really stop but is going down like stoped engine.

Hard to say - just guessing now :

Motronic cuts, because of too high Boost / Oboost, or Is it the same with low boost ?

Missing spark, mybe because of high boost ?

No, i have boost gauge and boost i ok max hold 0.85-0.9bar when i accelerate. Problem is appear only when i press full gas pedal, but i can drive with 2/3 pressed pedal without this problem.

I use Chmpion C59C Racing spark plugs, and this sparks can hold high boosts without problems.

Have you changed the airbox to turbo pipe?

This can collapse under boost causing problems like that.

I drive with original LET airbox and K&N drop in filter.
My fuel supply is OK too, i use two original fuel pump in row. Pumps voltage is 11.8-12.2V when engine is working.

Hi TURBO maniac,
I have the same problem, but it doesnt happen all the time. Sometimes it really runs well. i have the eds phase 1 with eds fmic and use the plugs that eds supplied. the holding back seems to be an ignition retard. the plugs show no signs of det. i am interested in what you find out .

Hi friends,

Today i drive my car with TECH 1 device in it. Everything with ECU is OK, lambda voltage is stable 0.88V, advance is retarding until boost rises, inlet air temperature is constant 49-50 degrees, MAP sensor values are correct . Today i mount new BOSCH F6DTC spark plugs but this no produce effect to my engine problem. I reinforce my inlet air tube but no, problem is the same

Where is my problem friends ????
Can someone help me ????

Is this effect of valve bounce ? My valve seats are cuted, but i havent this problem when i use original intercooler. With original intercooler this problem is appear when weather is hot and only in first gear with full pressed gaz pedall

Hi guys,

today i dismount my intercooler pipes and i see oil in them. After this i dismount one way valve and...........THE VALVE IS NOT ONE WAY, NOW MY VALVE IS BROKEN AND IS TWO WAY :evil: :twisted: :twisted: .

Wath is your opinion can this one way valve F...EN problem produce engine going down over 5000rpm, and boost falling to 0(zero) ???
