Do you have an exhaust manifold that fits the LET and Garrett T28?
If not, I know that Regal Autosport, UK, has (had?) a LET manifold that fits to a Garrett turbo, so.....

Motronic cannot see what turbo is on, only measures boost. With ph.3 you can run boost beyond factory settings, so it must be no problem, if your boostcontrol works good.....
Ask the creator of ph.3, Arno!

KKK16 is not that bad, but creates a lot of backpressure at high boost and high rpm's. Efficiency is also getting worse beyond 1,2-1,3 bar, so maybe a Garrett is indeed better here?????
(if your T28 compressormaps suit the LET.....)

(contakt VMAX, I think they also run a different turbo on their LET)

I now that regam motorsport have a manifold to a garett T28 to fit in LET
But my question is:
do you think the engine will be distrouit with mabe 1.2-1.3 bar pressure..?

I´m waiting for on answer from ARNO :)

1,2-1,3 bar is really the maximum boost a standard LET can hold for longer (overboost a little more =>1,5 bar)
Normally ph.3 runs at 1,15 bar, ph.3,5 ca. 1,25bar.......

This is off course also related to correct fuelling, inlet temp. and the maximum rpm. KKK16 runs out of breath there, but a T28 may hold the boost longer, so be careful with high rpm's.
A set of forced conrods may help you.

Why a T28, what happened to the KKK turbo of your LET?

Hi Zacka!

With the Phase-3 System you can use any type of turbocharger , the close loop boost control makes it possible !

The K16 LET Turbocharger has the best response-time , the other chargers lower the backpressure , thats right , but i dont know if you would like it , that the boost needs much RPM to rise !

In my opinion its the best way , to upgrade the compressor wheel together with an agressive exhaust turbine !

The other way is the use of a t28 roller bearing turbo , regal can supply such a complete system for the LET !

Also its possible to use a K26 compressor wheel at a standart K16 LET charger to lower the exhaust-backpressure when you want the same boost pressure as before , the efficianty of this K26 compressor wheel is much better than the K16 , so you can drive the same boost with a part open Waste.Gate !!

BUT : In any case you must upgrade your internal engine parts , like stamped steel connection rods , ...... in the other case ... BUMM-finish !

In my case: i got just 0.9-1.0 bar in step 12
Its mabe because i have a original exhaus..
But very soon i will uppgrade my exhause to 3 inch... :)
I will kontakt you when it is time to uppgrat my engine..
I want 400 PS from my engine, how i dont know :)

hello, yes the garrett t28 turbo is available from regal, i took have looked into this, but currently im thining of the KKK26, does anyone know what sort of power this unit is rated for?

Yes at last i hear some one say you have to modify or uprate the internals whne extracting more power, in the uk we seem to be getting a lot of guys putting a phase 3 chip in their tired engines and then they are suprised when it goes pop!!

I`ve rebuilt my engine, i`ve uprated balanced & lightned conrods, lowered comp ratio to about 8.6:1, heavy duty bearings, ported head, cams, Evo 6 IC...but now i`m looking at the uni chip to control fueling and possible the apexi for boost control...

What is the difference between the phase chiop and the VMAX motronic chip??

whats is this new phase 3.5 chip all about, what improvements are made to the fueling and boost maps??

Hi,

the fase 4 uses the kkk26 internals the outhercasing is the same as the kkk16

the fase3.5 is with recalibrated turbo presure switch so you can drive with a boost presure of 1.25bar and overboost stayes at 1.5bar, this brings the enginepower up to 330hp

the fase3.5+ is the same but with lambda sensor working again so it's alot safer, when the lambda smells something that's not right it will put the engine in emergency program

ok but how does that address the yellow injectors running at 100% duty cycle? at 330 im sur ethe std injectors are running at max and would be under a lot of stress...why dont eds recommend changin them for higher flow ones? ie in the uk some of the guy have been using saab turbo red injectors rated at 380cc at 3.5 bar
