I hope there's room for a non-german language entry in this forum
I'm about to change the tires on the Coupé, after 36.000 km, they are pretty worn down. I would like very much to change to wider tires like 225/40R17 or even 245/35R17.
What are your recommendations - is it at all possible to fit 245/35R17 on the standard 17" wheels, and is there room for them with a 30 mm lowering kit installed ?.
I have also been looking at 18" tires, 225/35R18, but I worry about the profile being so low, that it might affect the driving comfort too much with the harder spring kit installed.
I have the idea that wider tires will provide better road grip during acceleration from 0 km/h, when I get my Phase II installed (1/6-2002 - can hardly wait
...), is that correct ?
Regards,
Morten
