LET block and piston size

What is different about the LET block that it is quoted as "low noise" when the XE block isn't?

Also, what is the maximum safe size for pistons on an LET? 87.5mm??

From seeing the two side by side its difficult to see any difference but I don't think theres a strength issue as Arno is using an XE on his engine. See

Dave, what do you reckon about piston size?
Could you go as much as 1mm over and still run phase IV boost levels safely?
