Hi All,

It seems like my Opel dealer - just as I feared - has no clue what he is doing. After replacing my defective turbo charger with a new from EDS, the engine does not run correctly - and it has nothing to do with the turbo or software, as far I can tell

The test computer reports "Ignition error on cylinder 3". I got very good online support from EDS on the problem, but changing the spark plugs didn't help. Also, sadly enough, erasing Arno's PhaseIII software from the ECU didn't help either

So now I have standard software and a car that doesn't run, and a month wasted waiting - And what does Opel say ?: They don't know what to do about it !!!

I'm asking for your help to find out what could be wrong; Could it be the DIS-module ? (was OK before the turbo replacement). Can they have damaged the ignition cables ?. Can they have damaged something else ?.

Thanks,
Morten

Hi Morten !

Very very strange , you give a car that was 100% OK form the engine side to a repair with a oily GM Turbocharger to replace and the car is standing for some days at the workshop ... and after this repair , a piston was broken , perheps by surprise ???? ................................NEVER !!!

I guess that somebody before of after the turbo exchange took the car for a test drive and then killed the cold engine , even all the broken pistons that i saw were gone because of full load with cold engine !!

Do you noticed before and after the workshop repair the milage ?

If not , it will be very difficult to blaim somebody !

regards ASH

morten - sorry to hear about the engine :(

this damage should not occur on a visit to opel - EVER. Ash is right in saying check the mileage - or how much fuel was/is in the car.

the opel mechanic should be able to give a before / after report on the car. I know vauxhall here in the UK have a complaints procedure for unsatisfactory work - maybe this is best route? deal only with the dealership manager and if no luck try opel head office customer support.

If it ran ok but broken turbo b4 then pistons should be fine after turbo change.
