3 layer head gasket question.....

Hi Friends,

I have one question.......can i use 3 layer head gasket on my C20LET engine because original gasket is destroyed and i want to put stronger gasket . Layer one is cooper with thickness 0.3mm, second layer is CrNi sheet with thickness 2mm, and third layer is cooper with thickness 0.3mm.

I can't use Z20LET gasket because my COSCAST head is surface machined two times, first time 0.4mm and now second time 0.06mm, and if i use original gasket compression ratio will be very high.
Wath is Z20LET gasket thickness ?

Hi !

Forget this fairytale , everthing below 1.0mm chimmed head is OK !

With a only 0.5mm chimmed head and a 2.5mm thick gasket , your car will be slowing down and you loose power !

Use the Z20LET gasket , its alldayuseproof , you will never have any problems with water leakedge , most of all the flat copper-steel-copper head gasket solutions are good for short living high power solutions , but the allday use with its high frequent hot-cold cycle will cause a water leakegde by the time !

If you wanna really reduce your compression rate , take the 2 middle parts of a Z20LET gasket and make a tower out of 2 , than your compression rate will be massive reduced and you are save !

In future i want to upgrade my engine with Phase 3(3.5), XE inlet cam, and K24 or K26 kompressor wheel.

Hi !

Its depending how your GM dealer likes you , normally the gasket costs like 20 EUR !

The Thickness ist 1.3mm !

Opel dealers in Bulgaria don't offer this gasket because in our country there isn't Z20LET cars . If i offer this gasket to my Opel dealer, i must wait one mount for delivery.
Do you know any internet sites that can offer me this head gasket ?

The Z20LET gasket is about 1.1mm to 1.2mm, thats what I measured

I got mine in the UK by www.autovaux.co.uk and was about £17 (ex VAT).
