turbopressure problem after revision by EDS

Hello everyone,

I had my turbo completely overtaken bij EDS. Finally the car isn't smoking anymore and the boost is back at 0.9 bar. Now i have the next problem. In 1, 2, 3, 4 gear the turbopressure peaks at 0.9 bar and then immediatly drops back to 0.6 bar. In 5 en 6 gear the pressure keeps varying between 0.5 and 0.9 bar. What could be the problem? I also have the amalvalve replaced by EDS.

Im sorry , but which type of engine ECU setting do you use ?

Is seems to be , that you are using an original setting !

Please set the actuator to max opening range of 15mm , then your voost pressure should be stabil enough !

Yes Arno could you please explain what you mean by this.

I'm using the original setting. I turned the screw at the wastegate about 5 times. The overlap is about 14 mm. Do you mean this? Today i turned the screw another 2 turns. The boost in 5 and 6 is now 1.05 bar. But the pressure is still varying in 5 and 6 gear between 0.5 and 1.0 bar.

Please adjust the actuator like this :

1) the maximum way for the actuator should be like 15mm , that means from the closed position to the open position you must measure 15mm , thats it !

Then try again !

Question : Is your ECU original ?

Yes i'm using the original ecu.

I will measure the opening range of the actuator today.

Hi !

Yesterday I found the following problem at a customers actuator :

When he fixed the nuts at the treat , the actuator bold was turned , in this moment the actuator couldnt move smooth when controlled by pressed air !

his actuator was stucking and ratteling when the pressure was increased !

So the boost was never the same , somtimes to high , mostly after a short maximung even to low !

We corrected his problem , and smoothed the actuator , problem fixed !

Please check your actuator !

Today i've tried another actuator. But still the same problems. I haven't got a clue what the problem could be. I'm a bit afraid to drive the car to, because i'm not sure if this could damage the engine.

Yesterday i went to EDS. After a whole day of searching they found the faulth. It was a leaking hose to the ECU. Now the car is finally driving the way ik should. Thanks for your good help Arno!

You were right getting it fixed then. If your boost gauge cant read the right boost (and its plumbed into the ECU pipe) then your ECU cant read the right boost so may not fuel properly.
