Yes, you can control this risk :wink: If you install EGT gauge and if you run with standart K16/K24 turbo, you will see that when you hold 1.2bar nearly to redline, your EGT temperature will be above 900 degrees celsius. EGT temp. above 900 degree is deadly dangerous for normal(not racing) street performance engine. Original LET turbocharger creates a lot of back pressure at high revs, and this is may be the bigest factor for EGT temp. to go very high and melt piston(s). But intelligent(and expensive) decision is to use water injection system like Aquamist, and if you have EGT gauge, you will see that EGT temps will be 100-150 degrees low with water injection :wink:. Water injection cool piston crowns too, like underpiston oil spray if you havent such :wink:
