More power in higher revs

Hi, i want to get more HP in the higher revs with my c20let engine.
I got a very light car, so i don't realy need a lot of torque in lower revs.. but i need some more power in higher revs..

I got some old 16v camshafts.. i readed that i could exchange the inlet camshaft to the 16v one ???

I am driving a phase 2 EDS chipset in my motronic

Arno is making tests with a mantzel inlet camshaft ! You can reed it on the EDS site at news !

Hey !! but that's nice !! :)

I got also an old "mechanical" cylinderhead for the c20xe engine :D

But first i want to try the c20xe inlet-camshaft..

But i saw that Arno is using a K26 charger.. so does the camshaft trick work with a K16 charger ???

If you have it all apart anyway, will be worth putting it in.
He didn't say that it matter which turbo you were using, but he was talking to people who had K16's and hybrid turbos.

How do people rate V-max?
Are they any good?

Shame alot of the english sections of their site don't work :(

I know, that a lot of the English pages doesnt work anymore :(

But their products are very good, they also got a nice fuel pressure regulator,


an adjustable wastegate for higher load pressure


and adjustable camshaft wheel for finetuning of other camshafts


The prices are a little bit higher that the EDS prices.....
They also sells the APEX'i Boost Controller ;) that i want to install on my LET :D

I know a lot of peaple their very happy with the vmax products, ask the Users "Joe" and "Samy" in this Forum, they has a lot of v-max products in their Calibra's

P.S: A discussion v-max vs. eds isnt possible on this board, because it has a lot of people here they are very "EDS-Fanatic", and than, a discussion isnt really interesting here..... :rolleyes:
Here was a discusssion about Phase 3 vs. APEXi and the thread finaly is closed because it ends in a little war... :eek:

Their stuff looks very good.

I almost bought some chips from V-max a couple of years ago, then I found out about EDS (or Carlsmotorsport as it was then)........

Funny how discussions on tuners alway end up in a battle, the same thing has happened on the boards that we use alot in the UK :rolleyes:
Try www.migweb.co.uk if you fancy a change. Not just LET stuff though. Lots of XE experts on there.

Why only change the inlet cam to the XE-version? Why not the exhaust cam too?

Too much overlap - the boost pressure would blow some of the mixture straight out of the exhaust ports before the valves had time to close again.

Hi,

I'm using the V-Max inlet camshaft im my Calibra. It's not an XE-camshaft ! It has a stroke of 10,7mm and the timing is absolutly equal to the original one. The XE-timing is differrent and an adjustment is needed to prevent too much overlapping !
This cameshaft only takes a little bit of power at low revs (the XE is at low revs more "expensive") , but at high revs the filling of the cylinders is much better, giving you more power at the same boost pressure, or equal power with a lower boost pressure, which allows you to run the engine a little bit colder cause the charger can produce a colder boost .
