Intercooler piping

What is the best diameter of pipe to use for intercooler piping? From turbo to intercooler and intercooler to inlet. Looks like 60mm is good as the new inlet tophat has been bored to this. Can you go bigger or is it not recommended?

There must be an optimum size, and i would think that if the top hat is restricted to a set diameter then it is probably a good idea to match it throughout the pipework. remember the larger the diameter the more work the turbo has to do to get the same psi as a smaller pipework.

the standard pipework changes diameter a few times but 50-60mm all the way through should provide good results.
