Hi, I've had the full EDS phase 4 setup on the car for almost 2 years now. I am using the EDS/K26 turbo, 4 x 500cc MSD injectors, Bosch 909 Pump, Apexi AVC-R boost controller.

It's been some time since I last attempted to run the full phase 4 settings due to some other problems with the car, but now they've been resolved so I want the Phase 4 to work properly again.

On hard accelleration, the car seems to misfire / judder. This is happening between 1.5 - 1.7Bar Any idea's why? I'm pretty sure the spark plug gap has been narrowed already.

Also I'd like to set the boost controller properly. Phase 4 overboost should be 1.9Bar and then hold 1.6Bar. At what Rpm should the overboost be within. The K26 turbo seems to spin up at around 3500rpm ish so surely overboost should be from here to around 4500rpm?

I think your car is running much to lean, when you use the Apexi and not the correct mapsensor in the ECU. Also your boostvalues are wrong.
On a Phase-4 we run 1.5bar boost and overboost depends on how strong your actuator is. You also need 550cc injectors and the correct fuel pressure. Also please give your bosch909 to the bin and use the pierburg-pump!

Why don´t you run the complete EDS-kit altogether? Then you have no problems and also a lambdacontrol, which cuts the boost on full load, when the engine is running lean.
I also recommend, to use our new K26 with big turbinesection! We don´t use the old K26 for our Phase-4 any longer.

Thanks Stephen - Now I'm worried! I was the first purchaser of the full phase 4 kit in the uk and all I wanted was to do everything that EDS recommend. I was told to buy the K26 Turbo, the 500cc injectors and the Bosch 909 Fuel pump as well as a separate boost controller.
The goalposts seem to have moved :lol:
Will EDS swap all of the stuff I originally bought for the current phase 4 spec?

So when the kit wasn´t delivered together with the EDS-boostcontroller, but with an Apexi, Wallace sold you a copy of the EDS-Software.

The software can't be a copy because I found it quicker and easier to speak to Arno. Arno sent me the P4 chipset for the MSD 500cc injectors direct - as I previously had the 5th injector chipset.

I don't know anything about the EDS boost controller - I bought the Apexi separately from the USA.

When your car looses power at about 5800rpm, your valvesprings seem to be weak. Oberboost depends on the setting of your actuator and boost should be 1.5Bar!
Please check your fuelpressure on full load! It must be 4.5Bar when boost is 1.5Bar!

Nein, wieso, bei 1,5Bar Ladedruck 4,5 Bar Benzidruck, ist doch alles OK!!! Eingestellt sind ohne Ladedruck dann ja 6 Bar, alles OK, oder sehe ich das falsch???

Falsch Stefan meinte schon was er geschrieben hat 4,5bar Benzindruck bei 1,5bar Ladedruck. Weil 3bar Grunddruck + 1,5bar = 4,5bar.

4,5bar sollte er doch mit abgezogenem Unterdruckschlauch haben, oder versteh ichs falsch?

OK Thanks DD, I'll check the fuelpressure on full boost. I've set the Apexi to limit boost to 1.5 Bar after 4500rpm. It's only doing around 1.6Bar on overboost before that. The actuator is a Garratt 04 - should be ok shouldn't it?

I should also have said, the only reason people buy from lager
these days is to get EDS products!

Although unfortunately here in the UK we have to pay inflated prices because lager take a very large cut.

Oh, and for anyone that doesn't know - EDS are not allowed to sell direct to the UK because lager have tied their hands.

What happened to the European common market???????? :x
