If l'on installs a thermometer to measure the temperature of gas in exhaust.

Can one control the risk to melt a piston :?:

which sensor to use :?:

Well the solution is not a sensor to measure the EGT...... :roll:

Check your fuel mixture with a lambda control .... :wink:

Check your Gas pressure...... :wink:

and if this is gonna be on the right way you can check your EGT, but for me it seems to be a really bad problem with your gas mixture! and so for sure an EGT is not the solution for your fucked up engine.

but anyways, to come back to your question, you need at least an type "K" Element to measure the right temps.

Use the same one for close 2 years...... with no problems at all......

Don´t use 3-point sparks in your LET, everybody recommend Bosch F5DPOR for tuned LET´s, better use them. They are also OEM-parts in Audi S2, RS2.
Install a exhaust-gas-temperature-display and check your fuel-supply, avoid temperatures above 900°-950°C, so you can be relatively sure to avoid melting your pistons. But probably those damages can also result from too high exhaustpressure cause detonation in your cylinder, because the exhaust fumes stream back.
