Hi there,
My c20let is now approaching 150,000 km and it would certainly benefit from some lifting. As I live in Switzerland, this might be quite expensive over here and I am wondering how much it would cost for a complete revision in Germany.
Also I heard about an exchange against a revised but upgraded to 2.3 liters engine at Voelkl. However their web site seems to be dormant. Anyone knows about it? Anyone has any experience with this upgraded engine?
Don't go away, there are plenty more questions to come!!!
Thanks in advance
Califan

The voelkl engines doesnt seems very good, from hearing those engines have problems with the heat

Where do you live in switzerland, i live about 40km away from zurich :p

Do you know Delta-Motor in Kanton aargau?? I think those are very good with opel-motors

Hi Andreas,
I live in Lausanne.
Yes, I know Delta Motor. I have their optima240 kit. This is excellent and extremely reliable. I am now looking for some extra but first I need to sort out the best way to rejuvenate the engine.
Cheers
Bernard

I think you should contact "Hürlimann Motorsport", he's also Member in this Forum, he got great experience with c20let motor and his garage is near Lucern and i think he's much cheaper than Delta-Motor

I think you should let your engine at 2l or at max 2.1l with lower Compression (special Piston's)....all over that you will become troubles with the heat of your engine

Why do you wanna rejuvenate your engine at "only" 150'000km, my LET also is that old but makes still he's 260hp with EDS Phase 1 :)
I think, as long your engine still has a good compression and no "Run grooves" at your Zylinderwall, theres no need to do something

Yes, I'll have them checked.

It's true that Delta Motor is expensive but they are good.

Have you done anything to the turbo so far? what about dump valve, actuator, flywheel and fuel pump?

If you remove the fitted-in intercooler, this gives room for a larger radiator which can solve some of the overheating problems.

This week i became from Reto Hürlimann a new clutch (Sachs Racing Sinter Clutch) including a new flywheel (original opel)
- dump valve?!? do you mean the Wastegateregulator?? If you mean this, i got a new Wastegateregulator from vmax, now it holds the overboost of 0.9bar without a problem :)
- I drive still with the original fuel pump, but i replaced it on 120'000km, the old one did make some stupid noise

What intercooler do you drive? Lotec? Irmscher? From my side, i still has the original intercooler, but want to replace it with the EDS Intercooler and fit in the original Watercooler fom the C20XE, this uses the space that is free from the original intercooler

What type of spark plugs do you have installed?

Since the intercooler was installed by DeltaMotor, I guess that it's the Irmscher one. The installation seems to bring some nightmare. This really makes a true difference, i.e. the power curve is consistent and regular and the engine revs up easily.
Spark plugs, I have to confess that I do not know...

Did you install a lighter flywheel? Why did you change the clutch? the original one is supposedly capable of lasting up to 200,000km

What about the turbo: is is still the original K16?

No, i install a new original flywheel, because if you lighter the original one, the flywheel becomes some serious heat problems, but i've seen, EDS Motorsport sells aluminium flywheels from america, but i wanna here some reports from users before i buy it

Turbo ist still K16, im not sure what type of Turbo is the best for everyday use (There are a lot available in the meantime, vmax has about 3-4 various Turbo's (RS, IHI,.....), DSOP has the K16 High-Flow Turbocharger, EDS has the K26)

I had to change the clutch, because it became problems with the EDS Phase 1, if my boostpressure reaches the max (1.3bar Overboost), about 400NM will be transported over the original clutch, so after driving 1500km with phase 1, my original clutch wasnt there anymore
But with the new Sinter-Clutch from Sachs Racing Engineering (SRE), it should hold 500NM without a problem, i think the Sachs clutch will hold longer than the F28 do :D
