Bosch 909 electrical tip !!

Hi folks,

I just installed my bosch '909' fuel pump and i measured the voltage over the pump, it was 12,1volt, at my battery it was 13,3 volt.
So if you have a '909' fuel pump.. PLEASE install a thicker cable form your battery to your fuel-pump with a relais to switch it, to be sure the voltage wont drop to far !!!

at mine it was only 10.8V!

Now with 10mm² from batterie to the pumps with relais there are 13.9V!!!

is the new wiring you have, just using the standard relay, rewired with the 10mm cable? or have you fitted a full new relay aswell??

could someone please give a step to step guide as to how to do this as im also confused with what relays to use.
i was told to remove red/purple wire from origional relay and change with a thicker wire or is it done a different way

I measured mine the other day, 12.7v at the battery and 12.3v at the fuel pump.

How did you guys connect the pump? I have the 909 and am finding it very difficult to get a fitting kit to mate the output connection to the vauxhall pipework - any part number / contact details?

the fitting that regal does for their uprated pump fits the bosch pump to..
i have one on my 909.

I paid the £25 for the Regal fitting kit (well overpriced for what you get ) and it doesnt fit! the banjo on its own is too small for the std bosch connector that comes with the 909. The connector in the fitting kit is too small to replace the fitting in the 909.

Or can i take the fitting off the OE pump and use the banjo? the 909 fitting has a spring in inside - i wasnt sure if this was required?

just leave the original fitting that comes with the 909 on there (thingy with spring inside) and just use the two copper washers,banjo and nut from the regal kit..
thats how i have done mine..
so if your dont fit then maybe you have been given the wrong thing from regal..
