1.Today running the quarter mile the car kept on cutting boost at 5k revs! Didnt matter what boost i turned it down to it just kept missing! (carnk sensor is ok, as is TPS sensor).

On the way home decided to do some "testing"!

6th gear full throttle at 2500 rpm max overboost 18psi and holding peak boost of 12-13 psi!
6th gear full throttle at 4000rpm 23psi overboost and 13-14 psi peak boost!

Why so variable? Is this the actuator or is this the phase 3+ board playing up? Please help with this as im getting rather pissed at all the trouble i am having with this kit!

Pondering this at work today. I thought of a long shot...

A sticking or broken amal valve? As thats what controls the boost.

Chris i may be able to borrow an Amal valve today! Also seems my TPS sensor is actually shafted going by what Ash has said!
Gonna get a dash 5 actuator, new TPS switch and try my mates Amal valve:)

Hi RDS !

Please check your bost actuator setting !

You MUST turn the nuts of the treat , that the complete actuator is only able to move 15mm in total at the valve !

Please after this base setting install the spring and test again !

The MAX overboost is not allowed to be more than 1.5 to 1.6 bar in the worse case in 6. Gear at any revs !

This should help !

He played about with the actuator at Santa Pod. Turned it down loads.

His Spa guage recorded a max boost of 15 psi before the cut, just the same as with the actuator set up for higher boost.

RIGHT LISTEN CAREFULLY I WILL SAY THIS ONLY ONCE!!!:p :p

The problem with my boost cutting was the rubber hose collapsing between the airbox and turbo inlet! If anyone else experiences this problem its the 1ST thing i would change, if an uprated jobby hasnt been fitted!;)

Hi RDS !

Its nice to here , that it was such an easy fault ! ( And not my electronics one !!)

Normally i hear from my customers , that the boost was cutting down to 0.1 bar , thats clearly the rubbish rubber hose between turbocharger and air flow meter !

That only the boost is unstabel , thats new for me !

So as you see , you never stop learning !

Rob, surely you've not been running high boost with the stock pipe, have you?
Hell, you can squeeze the thing with your hand - of course it collapses!

Courtenay do a good one, but the price is a bit of a rip-off (UK, eh?) around 100 odd I paid for mine. Straight replacement, never looked back :D

John the car never had a real problem up until early june (weather gets warmer i suppose) and the rubber gets softer!
Just glad its sorted! Ash i still have a small minor problem with the car not holding correct phase 3 boost in 3+4+5+6! I have adjusted the actuator to 15mm as suggested! I have completely disconnected the power wheel thingy right back to the phase3+ board! I never got the thing to work so ripped it out! Does it require the power wheel to run full power on phase 3???
